• Battery packaging – choose from two or three different battery configurations including dual 625 CCA, triple 625 CCA, dual 900 CCA or triple 900 CCA, or order a temporary battery box for final installation that works best with your upfit. In many cases, your choice can be built for a clean CA
• Air tank packaging – every cab style and air brake system offered places the air tanks adjacent to the frame rails and under the cab. The advantages are cleaner CAs and protected positioning for the tanks
• Exhaust packaging – the rear exhaust outlet is standard, and a wide choice of exhaust system outlets – left- or right-hand, plus a vertical frame-mounted option offer you optimum flexibility. All horizontal exhaust outlets include heat diffusers

Two new air suspension seats head the list of optional interior upgrades this year. One seat runs off the compressor on air brake-equipped trucks, while the other is equipped with its own compressor for use on hydraulic brake models.* Both designs boast improved ergonomics for all-day comfort.

Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) pumps clean (filtered) burned gases back into the combustion air intake. These cooled gases mix with fresh air to help lower combustion temperature, which limits the formation of nitrogen oxides (NOx). The Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) is an after-treatment device that reduces hydrocarbons in the exhaust and traps particulates in its highly engineered wall-flow catalyst. The DPF is self-diagnostic, automatically performing a regeneration/clean cycle when needed, without any driver input required.

This new, larger comprehensive cooling system has six different radiators (coolers) – including one for fuel cooling – designed to support engine emissions and enhance durability, power and torque benefits. An engine-mounted fan shroud improves airflow efficiency, resulting in an overall cooling system that is capable and reliable, especially under extreme towing.

Flatten any mountain pass with the dual sequential turbocharging system. The high-pressure Electronic Variable Response Turbocharger (EVRT®) turbo 1 spools up first to provide fast transient engine response. The larger low-pressure turbo 2 provides added airflow at peak power and torque.

• Cast-iron block, heads, and bedplate – this proven architecture stands up to the combustion forces of peak diesel operation, and helps dampen noise and vibration
• Bigger crankshaft – power stroke cranks are forged from micro-alloy steel and machined to tolerances of .005 mm. Precision rotational balancing is the final step
• Oil-jet piston cooling – this technology optimizes ring life for long-term durability, and helps reduce combustion temperatures for improved emissions
• Powder-forged connecting rods – this process delivers outstanding strength and dimensional accuracy for high durability and smooth performance
• High-capacity oil pump – this pump keeps 14.2 litres of oil circulating for vital lubrication and piston cooling. Engine oil also carries away contaminants created by combustion. A super-fine filter keeps dirt in check to help prolong oil and engine life
• Heavy-duty alternators – a 135-amp alternator is standard with the Power Stroke®. A 200-amp extra heavy-duty alternator or dual alternators producing 320 amps are optional
